Waterfall and Museum Round Trip

After a short 15 minute shuttle bus from the hotel, the morning begins at Ton Sai Waterfall, a small yet beautifully picturesque waterfall at the foot of Phuket’s largest untouched area of forest and today part of the Khao Phra Thaeo National Park. Time is yours to embrace the fascinating blend of forest vegetation and wild life surrounding this small yet untouched water volume. From here we take a short 10 minute drive to Phuket's national museum, where you can see ancient artefacts from Phuket's long history and exhibits detailing the famous Battle of Thalang where the Two Heroines, featured in a monument on the main road nearby, defended the island against the Burmese in the 18th century. The museum also has information and exhibits about daily life in Phuket, tin mining history, the indigenous Sea Gypsy culture and the island's Chinese heritage. Continuing along the edge of the Khao Phra Thaeo National Park, we drive only another 5 minutes to Bang Pae, set a mist the density of the nature parks vegetation, you will find a stunning rock encroached waterfall of over 16 meters high. Captured by the aura of giant trees covered by creepers and climbers of every description, you will find a mystic silence, disturbed only by the amazing singing of the Gibbons from the unique on site Gibbon Sanctuary, where domesticated Gibbons are trained to return to their native forests. The round trip brings you and your camera full of special memories, back to the wonders of Indigo Pearl. |

Waterfall Nature Trail
Bang Pae and Ton Sai waterfalls are located in the Khao Phra Thaeo National Park. After a short 15 minute shuttle bus from the hotel, the trail begins at Ton Sai Waterfall, a small yet beautifully picturesque waterfall at the foot of Phuket's largest untouched area of forest and what is today a conserved national Park. Rising to a maximum height of 450 metres above sea level, accompanied by a professional local guide, the trail will take you up and over a fascinating blend of forest vegetation and wild life from one water volume to the next. Captured by the aura of giant trees covered by creepers and climbers of every description, you will even see a very rare species of Palm called "Kerriodoxa elegans" which is not found any where else in the world! Arriving at Bang Pae, set a mist the density of the natural park’s vegetation, you will find a stunning rock encroached waterfall of over 16 meters high, here you will also see the site of a well known Gibbon Sanctuary,where domesticated Gibbons are trained to return to their native forests.
The trail is not for the light hearted as some of the paths can be difficult and challenging.

Biking Adventure
Whether you are looking for a relaxing bike ride or a power ride, we have the route for you!
A choice of 3 biking adventures for all levels.
1) 15km round trip - touring local Temples, Rubber Plantations and local village market life, giving you a close up and real experience of the local culture and activities.
2) 22km round trip - all the local cultural experiences as route 1, with an added 7km through plantations and nature, plantations and nature, for those who wish that extra fitness drive!
3) 35km round trip - if you’re a cycle enthusiast or simply up for a challenge, this tour will take you along the coast with 3 challenging hills in the first 15km. You will pass kilometers of fantastic natural beauty but be aware it's head down and battling those hills for the first half.

Eco Tour
The 'eco-tour' package invites you to experience mangrove forests by kayak, visit a hydroponic farm, rubber and palm plantation and a mushroom farm. An afternoon will also be spent visiting a local Thai community to learn about their sustainable livelihoods.
It is a unique opportunity for holiday makers to support a good cause and learn about Thailand's environment and how the community manages and conserves their environment to improve the well-being of local people.

SCHEDULE
- 8:15 Depart from Indigo Pearl
- 9:15 Arrive in Ta Tin Dang, Phang-Nga
- 9:15 - 11:30 Walk through a community forest and learn about the history of tin mining and how a local community manages and protects their local forest. Kayak through a mangrove forest. Take a long tail boat and walk to a secluded sandy beach to view crabs, mud skippers, fish, and enjoy an optional quick swim while exploring the scenic area. Long Tail Boat ride back to starting point.
- 11:30 - 12:30 Enjoy local Thai dishes prepared by the local community and visit an integrated palm tree and small mushroom plantation near the lunch spot.
- 12:30 - 1:45 Tour through the local community and visit a hydroponic farm, rubber and palm tree plantation to learn about the livelihoods of this local community.
- 1:45 - 2:30 Travel to Home & Life (www.homelifethailand.net), a home for 26 children who need a caring place to call home. Enjoy coffee and bakery made by the children and see their organic garden and other efforts to become self-sustainable.
- 12:30 - 4:00 Travel back to Indigo Pearl with optional ½ hour stop at 'Phuket Gateway'
Thalang Cultural Village
A Living Museum
Thalang Cultural Village is Phuket's heart of living cultural stories. A fascinating journey through a real life local museum focusing on the conservation of Phuket and Thai heritage. In addition to portraying Thai culture, Thalang Village also strongly supports the flourishing of local business, helping them to continue to develop, creating jobs and income for the local community, through areas like local agricultural production.
