Thai food is without doubt a delicious testament to Thailand's unique culture and environment. Learn the philosophy of Thai cooking and the secret of the 5 fundamental tastes.

We offer 2 options:
Programme 1: Market visit and Thai cooking class
Takes you first to a local market, where together with our qualified Chef; you will personally select vegetables, fruits and spices in preparation for the day’s menu.

Programme 2: Thai cooking class only
Remaining at the hotel, using selected fruits, vegetables and spices from the Indigo Pearl's kitchen.

Cooking classes are fun, educational and a sure way to impress those at home with new recipes and skillsin the kitchen!

2 available sessions per week.
Program 1: Monday and Friday, 8am - 2pm, 3,000 Baht per person
Program 2: Monday and Friday, 10am - 2pm, 1,800 Baht per person
Price includes; Transportation (Program 1), Ingredients, a glass of wine and soft drinks, photos and certification.

Morning Alms

One of the most interesting cultural activities that one can experience on any Thai island, is visiting a local temple at sunrise and experiencing the morning ritual of the locals and temple’s resident monks. Monks are the most important people in Thai society and treated with utmost respect at all times.

Join us at sunrise as we take a short trip to our local Nai Yang temple and encounter monks making their morning rounds for offering of food. Groups of 4 or less can cycle if desired or larger groups can take the hotel bus. We will ourselves go prepared with our own food, flower and water offerings. We will enter Nai Yang’s small yet historical 200 year old temple, where you will be able to throw the magical wishing "Tuew" stones, shake your own "Siamsee" fortune stick, and light your very own "Joss" wishing stick and candle, making it a perfect spiritual start of the day.

Thai for Beginners

It is always fun to try and pickup the odd local phrase! Maybe order your regular evening meal in Thai and really impress the waiter! Buying a basic language book is a good start, but often after browsing the first few pages you realise that it is not going to be so easy as expected.

But don’t despair! We have put together a 3 day Thai Language Course for Beginners, using a well known language book "Thai for Beginners" by Benjawan Becker. Together with a member of our team (Thai National), you will getting expert coaching based on speaking, writing and conversational aspects of the Thai Language.

Using the book as a reference and our Thai National as your guide, you are sure to learn quickly and will definitely impress your family and friends.

Weekend Market

Join us every Saturday and Sunday and experience market life.

Naka weekend market is Phuket’s largest market and famous for its variety of products, traditional foods and good prices! Like all markets as the Thais say "Ta Dee Dai Ta Rai Sea" - "Good eye gain good thing". Which basically means the quality of products vary but look around andyou can get some good quality at the right price.

We leave Indigo Pearl at 5.00 pm. late afternoon and drive 45 minutes (35km) to arrive at Naka Market as the night light dims and the market lights create your shopping atmosphere. 2 hours belongs to you to explore the market at your leisure. With our Indigo Pearl staff there to assist you as required.

After your shopping adventure is complete, we head back to the Indigo Pearl, taking a slight detour discovering Phuket Old Town by night. A confusing one way system by day, but the traffic disappears at night and the city lights wake the atmosphere of small heritage streets.
